Mobile Manager Wall to Wall Inventory - Continued

Step 4 - Get current data and gather statistics

At last!  All of the counting is complete and it is time to conclude the inventory.  Remember the snapshot we created at the inventory inception?  A similar process is performed at the conclusion of counting.  On the Mobile Manager base station, in the inventory module we press the "Get Current QB Data" button to retrieve the most current item counts.

Next, we press generate statistics and information about our inventory job will be displayed in the Inventory summary section.  Below is an example of an inventory summary.

Step 5 - Use Mobile Manager's data views to review the details of your inventory

Before you finalize your inventory you may want  to review items that were and were not counted.  Mobile Manager's inventory module offers a variety of informative views that can help you identify items that have no price, items with no cost, items with negative counts, items scanned, items not scanned, etc.  With this information in hand it is easy to keep your point of sale system up to date and make sure it is accurate!

Example view: Display variance screenshot below

The display variance view shows any item that has a difference in on-hand quantity between the start and end of inventory.  This feature permits the store to remain open during inventory.  This shows that three (3) items had their on hand quantity change during the inventory.  A decrease in on-hand or negative variance as is the case with items #7 and  # 18, means a transaction occurred on the POS system that reduced the on hand quantity.  In this case the transaction was a sale of merchandise.

An increase in on-hand or positive variance as is the case with item #13 means a transaction occurred that  increased the on-hand quantity   In this case the transaction was a return of merchandise.  With this information you know exactly which items need count verification so you can get a 100% accurate inventory.
