Mobile Manager Wall to Wall Inventory
Dreading your physical inventory?
Take a deep breath.
It's not impossible. You just need the right tools.
Mobile Manager has a complete set of inventory tools made just for the task.
We know that our users have a variety of inventory needs. Some users inventory
their stores once per year while others perform quarterly or even monthly inventory
checks on high dollar items. Our inventory module allows users to create inventory
jobs for store sections, single aisles, departments or complete
wall to wall counts. Whatever you need. You can even take an inventory while
the store is open for business! Enjoy the convenience of
using a smart device to perform your physical counts wirelessly.
Why should I use a smart inventory scanner?
Simply put...because it is smart! There are many benefits in using a hand
held device that interacts with your point of sale system in real time. For
example, when you scan an item the details are displayed on the Pocket PC screen.
If you scan an item that is not in file you will know immediately that the item
needs to be added to the database. Once a missing item is added to the point of
sale you can simply scan it and count it. Using a smart device also has another
terrific feature, aggregate counts. Many retailers have items on a store aisle
and on end caps for promotional purposes. It is important that you can count
the same item in multiple locations and have a single count submitted to the Quickbooks
database. Mobile Manager has the intelligence to add counts together on like
items so you never have to worry about having the same product in many places.
Wall to Wall Inventory Overview
The wall to wall inventory process uses both the Mobile Manage Base Station software
on a desktop computer and the Mobile Manager Remote software running on the pocket
pc. This process does not change the standard QuickBooks Physical Inventory,
but rather gives you an alternative method to take a physical inventory.
The following section demonstrates Mobile Manager’s inventory process.
We've
broken the inventory process into easy to follow steps with screenshots shown below.
Step 1 - Create a new inventory job
Create a new inventory job in the Mobile Manager base station inventory module. Inventory jobs are
tracked by name and you can define as many inventory jobs as you like.
Step 2 - Create a snapshot (displayed above)
Create a snapshot by selecting the Create Snapshot button.
Mobile Manager saves a copy of the on-hand POS counts for all items when the snapshot
is executed. This snapshot is used to compare with the on-hand count taken
at the end of the physical inventory. The difference in the beginning and
ending on-hand quantities is calculated and is used to compare with sales or returns
that occurred during the inventory process. This allows the store to remain
open during inventory and any sales or returns that occurred during the process
can be accounted for prior to finalizing the inventory.
