Manage item information on your portable device
The Item Maintenance module provides a mobile extension to the QuickBooks Point of Sale system. This module contains all features and functions required to
maintain the Quickbooks Point of Sale item file. Change prices, edit item attributes,
print tags or add new items in a flash with a mobile device. Mobile Manager's
unique design allows the pocket device to interact with the Quickbooks Point of
Sale system in real time meaning changes made on the Pocket PC are immediately applied
to the database and at the registers.
When will I use the Item Maintenance module?
Everyday! Joking aside, this is one of the most fundamental and frequently used modules in the application.
The item maintenance module allows users to quickly lookup items, check quantity availability, check prices, departments, vendors, etc.
One common issue that retailers run into...the shelf tag price does not match the
price in the point of sale database. How do you currently resolve this issue?
Likely, one by one as they occur at the register. Instead of upsetting your
customer and stressing your cashiers you can take a proactive approach and perform
regular price audits with the mobile device. If the price is wrong you can
easily
change it. If the label is wrong just print a new one. It is really that
easy to manage your item file and keep things running smoothly.
How do I change a price?
The following series of screenshots demonstrate how to change the price of an item.
All of the Mobile Manager modules are accessed from the module selection screen. We will
start by selecting Item Maintenance.
Scan the QB item number barcode and review the details of the item
Press change on the menu
Update the price and press Send
Success!
As you can see Mobile Manager makes light work of price changes. The easy
to use interface coupled with the power of wireless technology makes maintaining
your item file a breeze. Multistore users can use this module to transfer
material between stores and all users can utilize the features found on the action
menu. The action menu contains several options, one of which is tag printing.
If you have the recommended Zebra LP2824 tag printer you can easily print single
tags or multiple copies of tags with just a few taps. Mobile manager also
works in conjunction with several TCP/IP wireless printers for truly mobile tag
printing.
